Children's MinistryFortuna Kids is casting a line to help children believe in Jesus Christ for salvation, and become the disciples God created them to be. If you have a child from birth through 3rd grade, we’d love for them to reel in a great time by joining us on Sunday mornings during service.
We also offer activities for children birth - 5th grade on Wednesday nights and during special events. |
Sunday Mornings!
At FBC, our mission is to create a safe place for your child to worship and learn with kids their age in an engaging, exciting environment. For our families with littles between birth to 3rd grade, we offer distinct age group classes suited to ensure each child feels safe and nurtured during each service.
If this is your first time coming, please take a moment and fill out our guest card before you come to let us know you'll be joining us and to expedite the check-in process. When you arrive, you can find a friendly face at the Next Steps desk in the lobby who will gladly help you get your kids checked in and answer any questions. Each child and parent receives a matching security code at check-in to ensure a safe check-out process.

Frequently Asked Questions.
Where do I go when I arrive? Come on in through the front doors and find the check-in station directly past the Next Steps desk. Each child will need to be checked-in to receive a name tag that has a matching security code for the parents to ensure a safe check-out process. Children from birth through 3rd grade will begin the service in the worship area with their parents and be dismissed for Fortuna Kids just before the message begins. After service, please head to the kids' wing (located through the gym doors) to pick up your child/children.
How do I stay connected to my child during service? Your cell phone number is a required part of check-in. We will contact you via text if there is any need.
Who can pick up my child from class? A child will only be dismissed to the adult picking them up that has the matching numbered security tag. If tag is lost, please visit the kids check-in station for assistance.
How many adults will be present in a classroom? There will always be at least 2 adults in a classroom.
Which volunteers will get background checks? Every volunteer has had a successful background check.
How can teachers be aware of food allergies to prevent introducing foods that can create an allergic reaction? If a parent indicates a food allergy or medical alert for the child during registration it will appear on their security tag. Before a teacher gives any snack to a child, they will look at their tag to make sure they do not have a food allergy.
How often are toys and furniture in children’s ministry rooms sanitized? We advise those that serve to clean our toys before they leave. All classrooms are cleaned throughout the week as well.
How are accusations of abuse to be handled? If you find that any one from our team is breaking our policies and/or acting in a way that is inappropriate with your child, please inform Lindsey Wenger or one of elders/pastors immediately. We will have a sit-down meeting with one our elders to determine the best course of action.

We are blessed to have wonderful people who volunteer to work in our children's ministry, and we joyfully invite others to join us in our efforts. If you are willing to share your time and energy with us, we welcome you with open arms! MINISTRIES FOR ALL STAGES OF LIFE
Youth Ministry
This ministry is for all 6th-12th graders and strives to disciple our youth to be followers of Christ. The youth gather every Wednesday night from 6:30 - 7:30pm for small group discussion and games. Events are also occasionally scheduled throughout the year, so be sure to stay connected on our "Fortuna Baptist Youth" Facebook group or check out the church calendar for details.
Women's Ministry
Our women's ministry is an avenue for all women to have fellowship with each other and grow in their knowledge of God. The best way to get connected is to join the "Fortuna Baptist Women" group on Facebook. We often post about our events and ways to pray for each other. There are also various ways to join a Bible Study, with the main group meeting on Wednesday nights from 6:30-7:30 at church.
Men's Ministry
It is our prayer that our men's ministry helps equip and develop men to be godly servant leaders in their families, communities, and church. Contact us today to learn how to get connected or join a Bible Study or find us on Facebook.
Couple's Ministry
Our couple's ministry hosts different events and activities throughout the year. We post event information on our church calendar and on Facebook page about upcoming events.
